Occasionally, we like to get the whole office together to talk about why we are here, and what we need to do to move forward. Here is a brief overview of our discussions yesterday.
We are seeing a sweeping transformation of the design industry – everything has changed and will continue to change. The first thing for us to do is to accept this reality. We always need to meet the needs of our clients in a proactive, not reactive way. We intend to remain a dynamic firm which embraces change.
Now is the time to focus on our vision, mission and values; direction with purpose. How do we continue to be a great firm that our clients need? We have the means and the responsibility to design our own future.
Who are we, what do we stand for, and how do we keep pace with change?
Vision
Our vision is to provide exceptional design within an environment based on honesty, integrity and sustainability, while pursuing the general enrichment and joy of architecture. Where “ordinary doesn’t interest us.”
Mission
Quorum Architects, Inc. strives to provide excellent design, advice and service for our clients. We will offer an atmosphere of openness, energy, opportunity and sustainability for the firm. We will constantly educate ourselves, our clients and the community on how architecture is the orchestration of art, nature and materials to create environments where people can celebrate life.
Values
We will practice our ideals of integrity and honesty, with a willingness to change and to adapt. We will continue to pursue superior design, stemming from constant communication, and the ability to listen. We believe that to provide excellence in design, we must operate in a constant atmosphere of truth and sincerity. Each project touches many lives and should be designed with the utmost care and respect for the individual, community and a sustainable environment. Architecture is to be an expression of an idea within its own time while being timeless.
Dynamic firms will embrace the changing times and will focus on leadership from everyone in the firm. So, what qualities do we look for in a leader (in no particular order)?
Passion
Energy and enthusiasm
Innovation
Professional competency
Clear vision
Integrity
Commitment
Collaborative
