IIDA (International Interior Design Association) is hosting the first annual IIDA DFW 8 Day Challenge and Fashion Show this Friday night, and we have decided to accept the challenge! What is CRE8? Well, each architect/design firm that signed up was given architectural materials (one soft good and one hard good) in a specific color last Thursday evening. Within one hour of receiving our materials, the design team which is comprised of five Quorum employees , as well as, the manufacturers reps that provided the materials, came up with a concept sketch of the garment we would make. Our color is indigo blue, and our materials are faux leather and vinyl sheet flooring. The Quorum team this year (the only team from Fort Worth) includes: Amy Grafa, Kim Dowdy, Mabelle Ponce, Dawn Shannon, and Doug Moon, and we are so excited to be a part of this! We are making this garment completely from scratch, and part of the requirements are that all sewing and other work for the garment must be done by our team members (no outside help allowed). Amy has graciously accepted the challenge of being our team’s model for the fashion show. Oh, and did we mention Jenna from Kiss FM’s Kidd Kraddick in the Morning Show will be the MC for the Fashion Show? Hopefully we will do an awesome job of representing the talent of the Fort Worth architects and designers. Stay tuned after Friday for pictures of the final outcome.
